Founding Engineer · UAE

Aman
Sharma.

I don’t have everything figured out. I try, mess up, learn, and give things a fair shot.

01 / The important bit

Life makes more sense
with people in it.

A small group gathered around a campfire beside a river at night
A campfire after the original plan fell apart.

Friends and family come first. Work, travel, and good days mean more when I have people to share them with.

These photos come from ordinary days: a campfire, a walk, fishing after work. I remember who was there more than where we were.

02 / The accidental developer

I taught myself to code.
Then made it my work.

I started teaching myself web development in 2019. I wrote bad code, broke my laptop a few times, and learned enough to get hired.

  1. 2019

    Started learning

Followed tutorials, read everything I could, wrote bad code, and crashed my laptop more than once.

  2. 2020–24

    Learned by shipping

Grew from intern to senior engineer at Ekanek, helping make Foxy faster, smaller, and far more reliable.

  3. 2024–26

    Moved closer to product

Built product systems at desertcart, then left an established team to help start EnergyIQ.

  4. Now

    In progress

    Building from zero

Founding Engineer at EnergyIQ, turning an idea into an energy product for German SMEs.

03 / Work in progress

Some lessons need
a court or a barbell.

Aman returning a tennis ball on a court at night First lesson: terrible

Tennis · Year two

The first lesson
was shit.

Watching Nadal play matches that ran for hours made me sign up for coaching. My first session was shit. I went back a few days later, then again the next week. Two years on, I still play.

I keep playing for the strategy. I read where the next shot is going and move before the ball leaves the other racket. When I hesitate, I lose the point.

Gym · Started, stopped, restarted

Started in college.
Came back in 2023.

I started in college because most of my friends did. Then work and lockdown took over, and I gained the weight back. In 2023 I looked at myself and thought, “Oh shit. I fucked up.” So I joined a gym again.

I have lost more than 15 kg since. I track the messier version on Instagram: missed days, dumb jokes, and the work in between.

04 / Camera roll, mostly unlabelled

Photos I kept
from the road.

I remember trips through small scenes: friends fishing after work, a fire that nearly went out, and clear water full of turtles.

05 / In the edit

I tried making
a film with AI.

I used Higgsfield to generate the footage, then edited both films and made the background sound.

I made both films to learn where the tool helped and where my editing choices mattered.

06 / That’s enough internet for now

Work, tennis, travel,
or anything else.
